Navy crew found after 48 hours of lost contact near the Senegalese border
Azzaman Info (Nouakchott):
The navy crew that had lost contact for approximately 48 hours was found today after their boat suffered an engine failure, leaving them drifting at sea.
According to available information, fishing boats were the first to locate the crew and reported their position to the relevant authorities. This led to the dispatch of the vessel Gorgol, which reached them near the Mauritanian-Senegalese border.
Sources confirmed that all crew members were found safe and in good condition, with no human losses reported, amid widespread relief and praise for the fishermen and the search and rescue teams.
